Boutique hotels represent a trend in the lodging sector, they are luxury organizations, with few rooms that emerged from ironic and demanding traveler´s preferences, travelers that want to escape from daily routine but also want to find a place where they can feel as home. Although several boutique hotels are small or even familiar enterprises the reported indicators of this segment, in Mexico, show profitability organizations in terms of the industry. The main goal in this research paper is to explain the profitability of these organizations in the stiff competition of hospitality from a theoretical perspective that considers the economy experience theory and its complementarity with the resource and capabilities theory. The final reflection refers to the superior service, the capability of the organization to amaze the tourist and the human resource´s creativity as the main factors in the generation of memorable experiences.
