Abstract

GARDUNO COMPARAN, Carlos A.. Antonin Artaud in Mexico. Struggle for Cultural Hegemony, between Reason and Madness. En-clav. pen [online]. 2020, vol.14, n.28, pp.110-139.  Epub Nov 12, 2020. ISSN 2594-1100.  https://doi.org/10.46530/ecdp.v0i28.367.

This text discusses the problem of the effects of rational foundation thinking on identity and culture, as well as the struggle for hegemony that derives from the conditions that reason imposes, in order to question the boundaries between thought, culture and reason. In order to do so, I analyze the particular case of Antonin Artaud’s trip to Mexico in 1936, through the concepts of the discussion developed by Michel Foucault, Jacques Derrida and Slavoj Žižek on the relationships between thought and madness.

Keywords : Antonin Artaud; Madness; Cogito; Identity; Hegemony; Michel Foucault; Jacques Derrida; Slavoj Žižek.
