YEBENES ESCARDO, Zenia. Visionaries and Fanatics: Imagination and Politics around Kant. En-clav. pen [online]. 2020, vol.14, n.27, pp.112-135.  Epub 19-Jun-2020. ISSN 2594-1100.

Kant admits the existence of a universally communicable feeling, which is significant in that it directs attention to the forms and events that are considered relevant in the public space, without a conceptual determination. Rejecting the Schwärmer and the extravagant, allows Kant to identify the forms of possible experience with the aesthetic sensibility of politically reasonable subjects. The question of universal communicability seems to be resolved by Kant if we recognize in the subjects the same reason that can be carefully delimited. In this article we explore the political implications of this search for the unity of Kantian reason and a possible reading that, on the contrary, highlights its fragmentation and finitude and contributes to a problematization of the unity of experience and its communicability.

Palavras-chave : sensus communis; beautiful; sublime; exclusion; public space; finitude.
