Abstract

VILLA SANCHEZ, José Alfonso. Criticism of Current Democracy from Aristotle. En-clav. pen [online]. 2019, vol.13, n.26, pp.1-23.  Epub Jan 10, 2020. ISSN 2594-1100.

The purpose of this study is to meditate on the limits and scope of democracy. Part of the fact that in our time there is an half way understanding which accepts as an unquestionable fact that the best regime of government is democracy. Going back to Aristotle’s Politics provides a series of valuable arguments to show what are the limits and scope of a government regime, whether democracy or any other, and to discover the most important object of any philosophical reflection on political life: the common aesthetic logos on which any regime of government rises. The oligarchy, the plutocracy and the representation are offered as three of the serious problems that currently overwhelm democracy.

Keywords : critic; democracy; politic; representation.
