The aim of this paper is to shed light on the gap separating Derrida and Lévinas in their attempt to provide some room for alterity. It shows how differences between both heterologies get modulated in the consecutive readings of Levinasian works by Derrida, in a way that, surprisingly, the more Deconstruction is consciously assumed as a strategy to follow, the closer their proposals are, despite maintaining their own heterogeneity.
