This essay analyzes the love poetry of two of the most significant author of the group of Mexican writers called Contemporáneos: Xavier Villaurrutia y Gilberto Owen. While in Owen love is seen as a journey that tragically ends in Shipwreck, in Villaurrutia love is like a statue made of stone. The text analyzes briefly the most significative elements of the love poems of both authors.
