Resumen

KOHN W., Carlos. La dicotomía violencia-poder: una defensa de la propuesta arendtiana. En-clav. pen [online]. 2009, vol.3, n.6, pp.61-74. ISSN 2594-1100.

Hannah Arendt has a singular place in the contemporary thought caused by her permanent challenge with the philosophic tradition, with the social theory ad usum; and in particularly, by her special way to characterize the fundamental categories of politics. Her original distinction among power, violence and domination has provoked polemic paths that even today, at 30 years of her death, still remained in discussion. One of the strongest critics for her concept of "power" was done by Jürgen Habermas (mainly in his essay: "Hanna arendt Begriff der Macht" [1976]). The presentation tries to confront this posture. For this, I will expose, frst, the Arendt's reasoning to contrast power and violence (specially, in her works: la condición humana, sobre la revolución and sobre la violencia.); then, the "unwise views" of the habersanian objection (even taking in account the "clarifications" of Habermas in Facticidad y validez) and finally, I will try to go into Arendt's arguments in defense of her approach.

Palabras llave : Philosophy of violence; domination; communicative power; Arendt; Habermas.
