The article endorses a conception of interpretation whose constitutive scope resides in the type of connection that interpretation establishes with the language that expresses it. Along those lines, the article aims to serve a double interrelated purpose: examining to what extent interpretation allows linguisticity redescription, and at the same time, how it is possible to justify the uttermost scope of interpretation from the point of linguisticity. First, some of the consequences of the description of language as meaning are reviewed. Next, the sign is analyzed. And, finally, a purely hermeneutic analysis based on Paul Ricoeur's work on the interpretative reading of texts is examined.
