Abstract
GONZALEZ PEREZ, Georgia Aralú and BAUTISTA CAPETILLO, Carlos. Migration and Development, an enduring scientific journal, 2003-2018. Migr. desarro [online]. 2018, vol.16, n.31, pp.117-139. ISSN 1870-7599.
The Migration and Development Journal of the Autonomous University of Zacatecas «Francisco García Salinas» has been published electronically and in print for some 15 years. Since 2010, it has been included in the Index of Mexican Journals of Scientific and Technological Research of Conacyt, as well as indices such as Redalyc, Latindex, Clase, Scielo, Ulrich and EBSCO. Currently, it is in the process of being listed with DOAJ, SCOPUS and Thomson Reuters. With that in mind, attaining greater degrees of quality requires an analysis of world-class standardized qualitative and quantitative indicators. This study encompasses the evaluation of two articles published in Migration and Development in terms of the impact that they have had in the social sciences field, specifically within the area of migration (number of publications, number of citations per article, significance of the citation according to the quality of the journal in which the reference occurs to the study previously included in Migration and Development). Thus, the intention is to determine the current reach of the journal with the aim of addressing existing guidelines and broadening its dissemination through electronic databases of a scientific nature.
