CEJA-MADRIGAL, Adrián  e  SALGADO-ORTIZ, Javier. Description of the nest and eggs of the Spotted Wren (Campylorhynchus gularis). Huitzil [online]. 2013, vol.14, n.2, pp.113-116. ISSN 1870-7459.

According to some authors, both nest and eggs of the Spotted Wren (Campylorhynchus gularis) have remained not formally described. We describe physical features and average dimensions of the nest and eggs from a population at Cerro Punhuato Natural Protected Area in Morelia, Michoacán. As part of a study on the species breeding biology, we collected two nests of the Spotted Wren during the 2010 breeding season, describing them as similar in shape and building materials as those of the Cactus Wren (C. brunneicapillus), but smaller in size. The nests we describe were located on Eucalyptus trees, but later on the season they were pulled down by a strong wind. Both nests contained eggs, which we used for the description. We cured and deposited the nests and eggs in the Bird Scientific Collection of the Laboratory of Ornithological Research at the Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo.
