I report the first record of the Scrub Euphonia (Euphonia affinis) for the state of Nuevo León, Mexico. This note provides information about the localization of sightings of six individuals; two adult males, one adult female and three individuals which sex and age could not be determined. The sightings occurred in the municipality of Linares on the 28^th of august 2009.
