DIAZ SANCHEZ, Mario; VADILLO SANTOS, Adriana; BECERRIL BARRIENTOS, María José y GOMEZ PEREZ, María de Guadalupe. Giant cell tendon sheat tumor. Acta méd. Grupo Ángeles [online]. 2022, vol.20, n.2, pp.197-198. Epub 31-Oct-2022. ISSN 1870-7203. https://doi.org/10.35366/104286.
The giant cell tumor of the tendon sheath is a benign soft tissue neoplasm; its frequency is variable, it has been reported as the second most frequent soft tissue tumor when it comes to the hand and wrist. We present a case of a 68-year-old woman with clinical suspicion, for which a magnetic resonance was requested; where the classic imaging characteristics are documented and subsequently it was confirmed by histopathology. The importance of imaging studies impacts the final result of a treatment since it seeks to determine the extent and complications before surgery to reduce the recurrence that represents up to 20% of cases.
