Resumen

ALVIZO CARRANZA, Cristina. Foreign Workers-Employers: The Compañía Hidroeléctrica e Irrigadora del Chapala and the unionization of their employees during the Mexican Revolution. Tzintzun. Rev. estud. históricos [online]. 2017, n.66, pp.137-167. ISSN 2007-963X.

The Hydroelectric and Irrigation Company of Chapala was during the Porfiriato and the first decades of the twentieth century one of the most important companies of the city of Guadalajara, since it had the monopoly of the services of light, water and trams. By hoarding these activities he gave a lot of work to the workers. In this paper I am interested in dealing with labor-management relations between this Company and the tram workers, especially since 1914 when the first unions were formed and the first confrontations between these workers and the company took place, As an end the negotiation of a labor policy in which he emphasized the right to unionize and to have a collective contract, from which derived rights such as eight-hour days, payment of overtime, Sunday rest and timely payment of his salary.

Palabras llave : workers; union; Revolution; streetcar; Guadalajara.
