GLEIZER, Daniela. Relations between Mexico and the Third Reich, 1933-1941. Tzintzun. Rev. estud. históricos [online]. 2016, n.64, pp.223-258. ISSN 2007-963X.
This paper analyses Mexican-German relations during the Nazi period, from 1933 until they broke off diplomatic relations in 1941. In contrast to historiography on the subject - which has focused above all on German interests in Latin America - the intention is to analyze both parts of the equation, with special consideration of Mexican interests in Germany. After years of trying to grow their trade relations, it was the nationalization of the Mexican oil industry in 1938 that finally brought about closer economic cooperation between the two countries. When this was interrupted by the outbreak of war, the political differences, which had repeatedly been minimized over the 1930s, came to the forefront of the relationship.
