Abstract

JESUS SALAZAR, José de  and  HUSTED, Bryan W.. Income inequality and the firm: Conceptualization and measurement. EconoQuantum [online]. 2019, vol.16, n.2, pp.89-112.  Epub Mar 17, 2020. ISSN 2007-9869.

Corporate wage inequality has a number of effects for the firm, society and the worker, meanwhile, their study is still in its infancy and raises complexities that demand greater attention. The discussion of the phenomenon is presented and proposed a way to measure it in its main items, doing the exercise for a group of companies located in the city of Monterrey, Mexico. The results allow us to observe the type of inequality for each company for the group of these and its comparison with national rates. These measurements pose significant opportunities in the design of public and corporate policy as well as a broad field of research into the relationship between business and society.

Keywords : Equity; justice; inequality; and other normative criteria and measurement; compensation and compensation methods and their effects; income distribution.
