Abstract

ALARCON OSUNA, Moisés Alejandro. Productive chains and hierarchies of technology-based industries in México. EconoQuantum [online]. 2018, vol.15, n.2, pp.73-94. ISSN 2007-9869.  https://doi.org/10.18381/eq.v15i2.7129.

By a graph theory it is done a hierarchical analysis of the technology based sectors (TBS) in México and its production chains; the national Input-Output matrix 2012 published by the INEGI is used. In the analysis, the hierarchies are described through their sales and purchases, as well as inter-sectoral relations generated by the TBS and its relative position in comparison to the rest of industrial sectors, showing that the chemical and pharmaceutical sub-sector is key in the production chains, while other technology based subsectors are largely positioned as drivers or independent sectors.

Keywords : Technology based sectors; hierarchies; production chains; C67; D57; L60; O25.
