Abstract

AGUAYO TELLEZ, Ernesto  and  CHAPA CANTU, Joana Cecilia. El robo a casa habitación en Monterrey, Nuevo León: ¿Un problema de localización?. EconoQuantum [online]. 2012, vol.9, n.1, pp.189-201. ISSN 2007-9869.

Using data from a crime victimization survey of the metropolitan areas of Monterrey, Guadalajara and Leon in 2009, and aggregate data by AGEB of the Census of Population and Housing 2005, this paper investigates the effect of location on the probability of burglary/home invasion robbery, after controlling for the physical characteristics of the dwelling and its inhabitants. The main results suggest that neighborhood conditions and some conditions of adjacent neighborhoods are significant determinants of the likelihood of burglary/home invasion robbery.

Keywords : crimen; victimización; características de vecindario.
