This article is an analysis of the aesthetic configuration of the Yucatecan landscape in El Museo Yucateco and El Registro Yucateco periodicals. Although these texts were largely literary in nature, in the first half of the nineteenth century they helped drive the separatist project of Yucatan to establish itself as an independent nation.
