The theme of the labour administration and labour inspection has gained increasing notoriety in recent years, both nationally and internationally. This is the result of greater recognition, where an effective management system of labour inspection is essential at all stages of economic development, especially during a period of economic crisis. Growing interest in this area may also be attributed to a new or renewed concern about “real” social justice in many of the countries which are experiencing or contemplating significant economic changes in their societies. What is proposed in this article is to analyse from a comparative viewpoint trends and challenges of labour inspection in a selected number of ILO member states.
