Objective: To analyze the dimensions associated with older adults’ quality of life: economic security, access to health services, and physical and social environments. Methodology: The study was conducted in Puebla and Nuevo León high and very high levels of aging municipalities. Elderly people focus groups were brought together and municipal officials were interviewed. Results: in Puebla the population which do not have a contributory pension or access to health services is bigger. In Nuevo León this group has a pension and health services. Value: the information analysis contributes to account for the regional differences in the elderly population living conditions derived from the context in which they have developed their work. The analysis also explains the health services deficiencies. Limitations: The study circumscribes to elderly persons with physical mobility that visit the community center. Conclusions: the obtained information allows us to observe important context differences that simultaneously affect the quality of life of this age group. In the studied municipalities the elderly population needs in terms of services, institutions, family, and community.
