Abstract

ALONSO MENESES, Guillermo. Recesión económica, reflujos migratorios y violencia antiinmigrante entre México y Estados Unidos. Norteamérica [online]. 2012, vol.7, n.2, pp.221-251. ISSN 2448-7228.

Changes in Mexico-U.S. migratory flows are inferred from the analysis of the trends pointed to by official public statistics and from the information published in academic journals and the press. The flows are modeled by economic factors, like the great recession, border control, or migratory policies and anti-immigrant violence. The result is adjustments, "new" tendencies, and the emergence of scenarios like the decline in Mexican migration, a sustained return flow from the United States that includes deportations, or the violence against migrants en route by organized crime.

Keywords : migrations; crisis; violence; border control; deportations; organized crime.
