Abstract

HERRERA LIMA, Fernando F.. La migración a Estados Unidos: una visión del primer decenio del siglo XXI. Norteamérica [online]. 2012, vol.7, n.2, pp.171-197. ISSN 2448-7228.

This article deals qualitatively with some of the main characteristics of migration to the United States, the world's principal receiving country and the main origin of international remittances between 2000 and 2010. It first presents an overview of world migration and then offers a vision of specific migration to the United States. In general, the article analyzes some central aspects of these migratory flows, both authorized and unauthorized. Sources used were the International Organization for Migration, the U.S. Census Bureau, and the Pew Hispanic Center.
