The Central Sierra Madre del Sur subprov. nov., situated in the state of Michoacán, comprises the Michoacán district. The Eastern Sierra Madre del Sur subprovince, situated in the states of Guerrero, Oaxaca and Puebla, comprises the Guerreran and Oaxacan Highlands districts.
