Two new species of Melpomene Pickard-Cambridge, 1898 are described from Mexico: Melpomene chamela sp. nov. (female) from Jalisco and Melpomene solisi sp. nov. (male and female) from Nuevo León, as well as the female of Melpomene elegans Pickard-Cambridge, 1898. An updated diagnosis of the genus is included.
