The Glaucus atlanticus Forster, 1777 was recorded for the first time at the Pacific coast of El Salvador, Central America (eastern tropical Pacific). The species has a circumtropical pelagic distribution and has been reported in coastal waters, to the north and south of the American continent, associated with periods of strong onshore winds.
