Abstract

ZARAGOZA-CABALLERO, Santiago. New species of Photinus (Coleoptera: Lampyridae: Photinini) of tropical dry forest of Mexican Pacific. Rev. Mex. Biodiv. [online]. 2015, vol.86, n.3, pp.638-651. ISSN 2007-8706.  https://doi.org/10.1016/j.rmb.2015.08.001.

Ten new species of the genera Photinus are described and illustrated. The species are from San Buenaventura, Jalisco; San Javier, Sonora; Huatulco, Oaxaca; Acahuizotla, Guerrero, and Mesa del Nayar, Nayarit. The separation is mainly based on the configuration of the edeagus. These new species are: Photinus. geovanni , P. paulinae , P. cisteilae , P. martini , P. sarae , P. enyae , P. navarretei , P. magdalenae , P. mireyae and P. viridianae. A phenogram and information about the similarity of the species are provided, as well as morphological characters.
