Abstract

CIFUENTES-RUIZ, Paulina  and  ZARAGOZA-CABALLERO, Santiago. Biodiversity of Tenebrionidae (Insecta: Coleoptera) in Mexico. Rev. Mex. Biodiv. [online]. 2014, vol.85, suppl., pp.S325-S331. ISSN 2007-8706.  https://doi.org/10.7550/rmb.31690.

After consulting the National Insect Collection holdings of the Instituto de Biología, UNAM, databases and literature, information about Mexican Tenebrionidae diversity and its study in Mexico is updated. Information about the species state distribution is presented as well. Based on these data, we detected that taxonomic and exploratory field work is still insufficient, so states where future sampling should be done are proposed as well as several taxa that should be revised.

Keywords : beetles; richness; endemism; state distribution.
