Abstract

ARNAUD, Gustavo; CARBAJAL-MARQUEZ, Rubén Alonso; RODRIGUEZ-CANSECO, Jesús  and  FERREYRA, Eliott. First record of the red diamondback rattlesnake (Crotalus ruber) of Coronados Island, Gulf of California, Mexico. Rev. Mex. Biodiv. [online]. 2014, vol.85, n.1, pp.322-324. ISSN 2007-8706.  https://doi.org/10.7550/rmb.40435.

The Red Diamondback Rattlesnake, Crotalus ruber, had not been reported in Coronados Island in the Gulf of California. However, several specimens have been found in this island since 2011. Overwater dispersal is proposed as the most acceptable hypothesis to explain its presence.

Keywords : Viperidae; rattlesnake; overwater dispersion.
