MORON, Miguel Ángel e MARQUEZ, Juan. New state and country records of scarab beetles (Coleoptera: Scarabaeoidea) and comments on their distribution. Rev. Mex. Biodiv. [online]. 2012, vol.83, n.3, pp.698-711. ISSN 2007-8706. https://doi.org/10.7550/rmb.28386.
Forty nine new state records of 38 species of Geotrupidae, Hybosoridae, Melolonthidae and Scarabaeidae are listed for Coahuila (1), Colima (3), Chiapas (1), Durango (1), Guerrero (1), Guanajuato (5), Hidalgo (4), Jalisco (1), Michoacán (2), Nayarit (2), Oaxaca (1), Querétaro (8), San Luis Potosí (10), Sonora (1), Tlaxcala (3), Tamaulipas (1), Veracruz (1), Zacatecas (1), and Distrito Federal (2). Two new country records for Amithao cavifrons (Burmeister) in Guatemala (El Peten) and Leucothyreus femoratus Burmeister in Nicaragua (Granada) are also listed. Based on the individual tracks of the species analyzed, the congruence of the distribution of every species with previously observed biogeographic patterns in Scarabaeoidea and other beetle groups is discussed.
