Abstract

ROBLES, Irma; BANDALA, Yamir; MANRIQUEZ, Juan  and  BUSTOS, Erika. Modeling of Hg (II) Adsorption onto Ca-bentonite. J. Mex. Chem. Soc [online]. 2018, vol.62, n.2, pp.305-313. ISSN 1870-249X.  https://doi.org/10.29356/jmcs.v62i2.396.

The presence of mercury in soils, like other heavy metals, is associated with organic matter and minerals. Mercury deposited in soils is mainly in its oxidized form Hg2+. The adsorption of Hg (II) from aqueous solution into Ca-bentonite was studied. Adsorption percentage was determined as a function of shaking time and temperature to study the thermodynamics and kinetics of Hg (II) adsorption on Ca-bentonite, which was simulated using the MINSQ and GAUSSIAN 09 programs.

Keywords : Hg (II); Ca-bentonite; MINSQ; GAUSSIAN 09.
