Resumen

MENDOZA GARCIA, Jorge. Corpus Thursday: the 1971 Student Massacre in Mexico Narrated to 50 Years. Polis [online]. 2021, vol.17, n.1, pp.169-211.  Epub 03-Nov-2021. ISSN 2594-0686.  https://doi.org/10.24275/uam/izt/dcsh/polis/2021v17n1/mendoza.

In Mexico during the second half of the XX century, two student massacres were executed: the one of 1968 and the second in 1971. This second one has been little explored and analized since the academic field. What this article proposes is a reconstruction of the massacre which had place on June 10 of 1971, also known as «Jueves de Corpus». That day was taking place a march in support to the students of the Nuevo Leon University. The reconstruction is carried out based on testimonies and memories, which nowadays are exposed and narrated by participants of that movement. It is conducted since the collective memory and narration notions; the reconstruction of what happened, its meanings and how it is seen half century later is what is exposed in this article.

Palabras llave : collective memory; narration; reconstruction; June 10.
