Abstract

ARZALUZ SOLANO, María del Socorro. Urban Regime or Corporate Governance? Nuevo Leon in the 21st Century. Polis [online]. 2021, vol.17, n.1, pp.7-42.  Epub Nov 03, 2021. ISSN 2594-0686.  https://doi.org/10.24275/uam/izt/dcsh/polis/2021v17n1/arzaluz.

The article analyzes the state-company links through the case study of Nuevo León in recent years. It starts from the question whether this form of alliance can be considered an urban regime according to Clarence Stone’s approach. The document examines the security crisis in the state and the emergence of two instruments of state-company alliance: the creation of the Civil Force Police (2011) and the Nuevo León Council (2014). It is concluded that this case is closer to a corporate governance than to an urban regime according to the approach used.

Keywords : Urban regime; governance; violence; Nuevo León.
