Abstract

The following proposal is a reflection on how and to what extent the governance structure of the Mexico city (CDMX), as well as the positions of the federal government and other economic-political strata, all them with decision making in the design and structure of the city and in Particularly in its urban functioning, affect the administration of the first picture of the Historic Center, particularly the Zócalo at the beginning of the 21st century. In particular, to what extent control of space in the city has become an object of dispute between the federal government and the city. Next, how the administration of this space is structured and regulated and how this control of the territory is influenced in the constructed place, mainly in the socio-spatial practices, as the uses and appropriations observed particularly in the Plaza de la Constitución.
