The antagonistic pluralism conception supported by Chantal Mouffe retakes the Carl Schmitt antagonist perspective. Once it is accepted the idea that every political community is constituted trough the enemy exclusion, it is immediately important to take into account the objections that allows us to avoid the totalitarian consequences of the Schmittian thought. In this context we are invited to inquiry the necessary consensual order that the agonistic proposal must appeal to identify a political regimen as a democratic one, no matter how precarious and contingent this order could be. From this point of view, the conjugation of the consensus and conflict notions is both indispensable and inevitable to examine the Mouffean political project.
