Guardianship action embodied in the Constitution of Colombia in 1991 is undoubtedly one of the most revolutionary legal devices in the path of the "New Latin American constitutionalism." This article, in addition to recognizing the democratic progress that has brought this constitutional guarantee in Colombia, to realize the effectiveness of the constitutional rights of everyday citizens, stopping in its legal framework to give a brief description of some of its procedural features.
