Abstract

ORTIZ SARABIA, Gamaliel; MIRANDA VILLASANA, José Ernesto  and  URIBE CAMPOS, Alfonso. A new alternative to approach maxillary sinus: squared approach technique. Case report. Rev. Odont. Mex [online]. 2008, vol.12, n.2, pp.94-100. ISSN 1870-199X.  https://doi.org/10.22201/fo.1870199xp.2008.12.2.15683.

The squared approach is presented, from personal design, as a new way to treat several diseases at maxillary sinus. We consider that this new modality has several advantages over the classical “Caldwell Luc” and the intranasal antrostomy. Between these advantages we include: better vision on the operating zone (maxillary sinus) and the possibility to reconstruct the bone defect immediately. We report a patient treated with this squared approach, with a previous chronic sinusitis from traumatic dental origin.

Keywords : Maxillary sinus; squared approach; Caldwell Luc and intranasal antrostomy.
