Abstract
SANCHEZ ORTEGA, Javier. Crown enlargement using electrosurgery in severely destroyed anterior primary teeth. Rev. Odont. Mex [online]. 2007, vol.11, n.2, pp.81-86. ISSN 1870-199X. https://doi.org/10.22201/fo.1870199xp.2007.11.2.15872.
A technique for the preservation of severely carious primary maxillary incisors using an electrosurgical procedure for crown enlargement and restoring with stainless steel crowns is described. Pulp therapy (Fc pulpotomy or pulpectomy with vitapex) was previously performed on each tooth. The advantage of this technique, is essentially, the preservation of these teeth that otherwise would have been extracted. In addition, it improves masticatory efficiency, avoids speech and emotional problems as well as aberrant habits. The technique is illustrated in the case report in which a 24 month follow up clinical evaluation was performed in 2 children with ECC (baby bottle syndrome) treated under general anesthesia.
