The present article proposes the convenience of resorting to certain traditions that, within the field of the cultural studies, may be useful to trace an methodical approach to literary texts from a revision of them as cultural practices, beyond thematic topics or rhetorical-stylistic resources. In order to do this, it looks to clarify the use of terms as culture, discourse, literature or authorship. Also proposes a critical revision of different traditions that, from the literary theories or marginally to these but using literature as study object, serve to raise a theoretical scene that can serve like base for the consolidation of a methodology of sociocultural analysis of literary phoenomena.
