TOLEDANO J., Cairo; AVILA J., Laura y GARCIA J., Sara. Pharmacotherapy follow-up in an ambulatory population with Diabetes mellitus type 2. Rev. mex. cienc. farm [online]. 2012, vol.43, n.2, pp.54-60. ISSN 1870-0195.
The Pharmacotherapy follow-up (PF) is a useful tool in the provision of information and education in Type 2 Diabetes populations. This work evaluated the impact of the PF on the glycemic control of ambulatory diabetic patients. It was used the Dáder methodology , including a modular sanitary educational program. 71 patients participated having a mean of the blood glucose at the beginning of the study of 179.73 mg/dL, diminishing after six months of interventions to 139.5mg/dL (p<0.001). The PF increased the pharmacological adherence and decreased the frequency of the negative outcomes associated with medications. The PF positively impacted on the glycemia of the diabetic participants.
