Resumen

MIRANDA, Bruno. The return migration seen through circularity. Displacements between Bolivia and Brazil. Andamios [online]. 2019, vol.16, n.41, pp.257-282.  Epub 20-Mayo-2020. ISSN 2594-1917.  https://doi.org/10.29092/uacm.v16i41.725.

Mobilities inside South America shape a specific migratory system. When it comes to Bolivia and Brazil, migration flows adjust themselves to the ups and downs of São Paulo´s fashion industry. Because of that, these are circular movements of people, which imply consecutive returns. Therefore, to debate return migration itself blurs the dynamic use of the space between El Alto and São Paulo. Drawn upon a Bolivian family´s trajectories, and making use of migratory circulation and reversibility as key concepts, this paper builds an analytical framework from which to fit return migration into a migration pattern marked by cycles.

Palabras llave : Bolivian migration; return migration; migratory cycle; migratory circulation; reversibility.
