Abstract

DOMINGUEZ, Matías  and  CONFORTI, Claudio M.. Why Logic and Argumentation Theory?. Andamios [online]. 2019, vol.16, n.41, pp.165-173.  Epub May 20, 2020. ISSN 2594-1917.  https://doi.org/10.29092/uacm.v16i41.720.

In this article we propose to inquire about the association, so particular, that today is between logic and theory of argumentation.

We wonder if the emergence of argumentation theory was a “paradigm shift” of what was logic understood until the 1950s. We think not. Nor do we believe in the paradigm shift in the conception of a “new rationality”.

The “concerns” and applications of logic and argumentation theory are different. They are different disciplines.

Keywords : Logic; theory of argumentation; informal logic; paradigm; rationality.
