Abstract

This paper discusses the role of the ethnicity as disputed field for urban indigenous communities. At neoliberal multiculturalism context, the ethnicity is a negotiation and struggle tool for the social recognition of collective rights, but, at the same time, is an explotaible and conditioned resource by the State. In this way, the urban ethnic group struggles for the resources access (home, work spaces, education and health), to become not only in a new disputed fields for ethnicity, but also in conditioned contexts where the folclorism is explotated for the cultural turism, or for the State cultural politics.
