In this essay we present the major challenges that are still pending in Mexico’s Social Policy Agenda. In order to advance we argue that the design and establishment of a State Social Policy is needed. From that point of departure, a series of policy options are presented which would considerably contribute to the improvement of generalized social welfare, in spite of several obstacles that need to be overcome.
