This paper analyses the economic crisis and its repercussions in Latina America, with special concern about the policy responses and the actions adopted. With this purpose we examine the evolution of the economic and financial crisis in the United States of America, the actions of the Federal Reserve and the government. After that we show the specific features of the peak of the economies of Latin America, and then the decisions of political economy during that peak. Finally we present some particular actions applied by the governments to face the current crisis.
