This article answers four interconnected questions, which will determine the future possibility of reestablishing labor institutions' role in protecting waged workers without affecting the country's competitiveness: Why is a structural reform in this sphere needed? What should its crosscutting themes be? What do the proposals and bills presented by social and political actors over the last 1 5 years offer in this regard? Under what conditions would this reform be viable?
