Resumen

RAMIREZ LOPEZ, Artemio et al. Trust and partnership. Factors involved in agricultural trade in the western highlands of San Luis Potosí. Revista Col. San Luis [online]. 2019, vol.9, n.19, pp.241-269.  Epub 19-Nov-2020. ISSN 2007-8846.  https://doi.org/10.21696/rcsl9192019922.

This article seeks to analyze the influence of trust and partnership on agricultural trade dynamics in the western highland region of the state of San Luis Potosí, Mexico. For this analysis, 975 surveys were used in which producers refer the confidence level towards other agents that participate in commercial activities. Methods and tools were combined in order to test previous theoretical statements and conclusions about concepts of sociology and economics in a rural context. Although some elements that make up the social capital are present, given the limitations of the study, there is not enough evidence to assert that this capital has a decisive influence on the commercial dynamics of agricultural producers. It was found that the highest levels of trust are in family ties; producers rely more on people who come from distant places, i.e., the greater the distance, the greater the trust; associated producers have greater trust in general; greater income and technification do not represent greater trust or closer commercial ties.

Palabras llave : social capital; trust; partnership; rural development.
