The aim of this paper is to discuss, based on the analysis framework provided by the public policy process, that the natural resources preservation is not perceived as a relevant problem among society in Mexico, through a case study and through a qualitative approach based on semi-structured interviews and secondary information sources. The results of the research show that the preservation of natural resources is not an issue of broad relevance within the analyzed community even by relying on the benefits generated by them for their economic maintenance.
