Abstract

Coyote runs through literature as a character who loves and hates, that she loves and hates, it helps and offends, which appreciates and betrays, who is respected and feared, which is invincible and able to be overcome, which is the most cunning and, in the genre of the story, the dumbest. Literary genres we see reflected the multiple ambivalent meanings that owns the animal; Sometimes, according to gender, dominates one of the opposing sentiments and, sometimes, coexist both.
