The aim of this paper is to analyze the role of the Revista Moderna (1898-1903) and its continuation, the Revista Moderna de México (1903-1911), in the process of reception and dissemination of the work of José Enrique Rodó in the Mexican literary scene, with particular reference to the lapse from 1895 to 1917. The dialogue between hemerographic and archival research makes it possible for us to understand the influence of the Uruguayan essayist on the intellectual formation of some members of the Ateneo de la Juventud.
