GUERRERO GUERRERO, Ana Luisa. Human rights and citizenship in Latin-America. Latinoamérica [online]. 2010, n.51, pp.109-139. ISSN 2448-6914.

In this paper the relationship between citizenship and human rights in Latin American countries in this time of globalization is analyzed from a philosophical-political perspective. The adoption of varying types of human rights in Latin American countries has not evolved the same nor in the same order as in North America. This invites one to reflex on the meaning and significance this has on human rights in Latin America, most notably with certain communities and ethnic minorities that have demanded their human rights where their unique cultural diversity defines them in relation to a Western paradigm of human rights which has excluded them.

Palavras-chave : Human rights; Globalization; Citizenship; Western paradigm.
